The evening with Dr. Philip Landrigan was well attended by over 80 students- his talk brought to light many of the environmental issues surrounding health in the US and around the globe.
Dr. Landrigan is currently the Dean of Global Health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He is well known for his work in removing lead in gasoline, protecting children's health from environmental threats, and other health/disease prevention initiatives. We were honored to have him speak at the school, and hope to continue engaging with other prominent figures in public health!
A few weeks later, GlobeMed hosted Color Wars for the first time ever. The event was quite a hit, students from all over campus headed over to the Kind and Weiland Quad on a beautiful Saturday to get seriously splattered. We're sure to continue this as an annual fall GlobeMed tradition.
We are still in the process of gathering all of the photos from the event, but here are some photos courtesy of Amherst College's Instagram!
