Introducing our new GROW coordinator!

I am thrilled to be the 2013-2014 GROW Coordinator for the Amherst Chapter of GlobeMed. As a sophomore, I never imagined that I would have such a crazy cool opportunity help both GlobeMed at Amherst and our partner organization in El Salvador, Pastoral de la Salud. In the coming weeks, I will help select a team of GROW interns to accompany me to Cuscatlán, a region in El Salvador, for three weeks this coming summer. The opportunities for mutual learning that this experience will entail will strengthen all aspects of the partnership and this is the opportunity of a lifetime for myself and the fellow GROW interns. The previous GROW interns as well as the national office have already been incredibly helpful and I am grateful for all their support. This will be a learning experience for everyone on the GROW team and I’m confident in our ability to make the most of this trip as a chapter, as a group and as individuals.

Keelin was chose for her dedication to global health equity and potential to make the GROW trip a success. The trip to El Salvador every year strengthens our partnership, and focuses our chapter during throughout the year. On that note, please take a look at the GROW trip video below that was just released from our 2013 GROW trip team. You'll get a glimpse of the incredible women at Pastoral de la Salud, and the work that they do. If you'd like to see more from the GROW trip this past summer, check out our GROW blog!
